How to Become a BCBA

Visit the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) website:

Basic requirements for becoming a BCBA you will need the following:

  • Earn a graduate degree in a relevant field such as psychology or behavior analysi
  • Complete required coursework
  • Gain supervised fieldwork experience
  • Pass the BCBA exam administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

How to Become an RBT

Basic requirements for becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) you will need the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete a 40-hour RBT training course through a certified provider, followed by a competency assessment
  • Pass the RBT exam to receive your certification; all of which should be done under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
