
How to Become a BCBA
Basic requirements for becoming a BCBA you will need the following:
- Earn a graduate degree in a relevant field such as psychology or behavior analysis
- Complete required coursework
- Gain supervised fieldwork experience
- Pass the BCBA exam administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

How to Become an RBT
Basic requirements for becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) you will need the following:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Pass a background check
- Complete a 40-hour RBT training course through a certified provider, followed by a competency assessment
- Pass the RBT exam to receive your certification; all of which should be done under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
